Individual Differences

At Kingswood College, our LINKS (Learning Is New Knowledge) program is designed for students who require additional support, whether due to diagnosed learning difficulties or other challenges in accessing the curriculum, including twice-exceptional students. Our approach involves conducting Student Support Group meetings twice a year to review progress. 

Individual Differences in the Junior School (K-6)

Differentiation is a key component of meeting the diverse skills and abilities of our students. Whilst programs within the classroom are differentiated to cater for this diversity, additional targeted support may be needed to allow all students to achieve their best. This support may take place in the classroom or in small group settings with Individual Differences staff.

Individual Differences in the Secondary School (7-12)

For students who may benefit, LINKS classes focus on literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning skills and can serve as an alternative to language study in Years 7-9. Before entering Year 7, our Head of Individual Differences - Secondary School collaborates with families to facilitate a smooth and successful transition to secondary school. This process includes school visits and participation in meetings with the primary school to ensure a seamless integration.

At Kingswood College, we recognise the importance of fostering a culture of continuous growth and development in all our students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Moreover, we are dedicated to ensuring that learning is tailored to suit the needs of every individual learner in our care, striving to make it 'just right' for each student.
